Ante el férreo rechazo del Colegio de Profesores ante el nombramiento del seremi de Educación Carlos Crott, el diputado Alfonso De Urresti exige al Intendente Juan Varas y a las autoridades pertinentes, que escuche los planteamientos del gremio.

De Urresti manifestó que "ante este tipo de situaciones tan delicadas donde se acusa de exoneración de profesores en la época de la dictadura militar, la autoridad regional tiene el deber ético de comprobar si existen antecedentes suficientes y de acuerdo a eso, adoptar alguna medida".
El parlamentario fue claro en afirmar que "debe existir mayor prolijidad en las designaciones de las autoridades regionales, por parte del nuevo gobierno. Hemos visto cuestionados nombramientos de gobernadores, que han debido renunciar además del director de Gendarmería, Iván Andrusco. Realmente debe existir más seriedad, porque estamos hablando de quienes van a dirigir el gobierno y el país durante 4 años, y lo ideal es que sean personas idóneas”
Así el diputado justificó su planteamiento además, de criticar excesiva tardanza en las designaciones de las autoridades regionales, “Las autoridades gubernamentales no deben permitir que las relaciones se quiebren de tan grave forma, entre los gremios y el gobierno a nivel regional, esto entorpece los procesos de negociación y perjudica a nuestra sociedad”.
