Una explicación de parte del secretario Regional Ministerial de Salud, Richard Ríos, por el proyecto que crearía un centro de distribución de sangre en Puerto Montt y eventual pérdida del banco homónimo de Valdivia, solicitó el candidato único de la oposición, Carlos Amtmann.
El ex rector de la Uach, dijo que la autoridad de salud debe hablar con claridad sobre este tema, “porque es preocupante para el sistema y el posicionamiento de Valdivia como centro de salud de excelencia en la región”, puntualizó.
Amtmann, acotó que se trata de una situación delicada considerando, además, a quienes con mucho esfuerzo, han contribuido al desarrollo del Hospital Regional ligado al funcionamiento del banco de sangre como oncología, cirugías renales y trasplantes "para que mantenga su condición de centro de sangre en un nivel autónomo", añadió.
Finalmente, dijo que es una materia que también debe preocupar a la Universidad Austral “que ha jugado un papel muy relevante en el desarrollo del banco de sangre del Hospital Regional”, concluyó.
