Casi 10 millones 500 mil pesos fueron el aporte que realizó la Federación Provincial de Pescadores Artesanales del Sur, FIPASUR, correspondiente a 10 proyectos que presentaron diferentes sindicatos de pescadores artesanales al Concurso de Proyectos FFPA - GORE Los Ríos y que se encuentran afiliados a esta federación.
El convenio FFPA- GORE Los Ríos es una instancia que permite focalizar recursos para proyectos de la pesca artesanal en la región, en donde el Fondo de Fomento para la Pesca Artesanal desde Valparaíso, aporta un monto de 100 millones de pesos, al igual que el Consejo Regional de Los Ríos. Así, se dispuso un concurso de carácter regional que cuenta con 200 millones de pesos y que se orienta a organizaciones de pescadores artesanales interesados en desarrollar proyectos de infraestructura, asistencia técnica y capacitación, comercialización y repoblamiento y cultivo de recursos hidrobiológicos.Los 10 proyectos que serán beneficiados con este aporte desde la Federación son de diversa índole y apuntan a la diversificación productiva, desarrollo organizacional e infraestructura. Estas iniciativas alcanzan los 131 millones de pesos y forman parte de los 22 proyectos ganadores, entre las 3 comunas costeras de la región, Corral, Valdivia y San José de la Mariquina.
Los sindicatos beneficiados son el Sindicato de Mississippi, el Sindicato de Pescadores Artesanales de Los Molinos, el Sindicato de Pescadores de Bonifacio, Sindicato de Recolectoras de Orilla de Los Molinos, Sindicato de Caleta El Piojo de Niebla, Sindicato Nº 2 de Isla del Rey, Sindicato de Pescadores de Chaihuín, Sindicato de Pescadores Artesanales de Los Molinos Nº 2, Sindicato de Pescadores Artesanales de Amargos. Además se incorpora un proyecto de la misma Federación consistente en la habilitación de un galpón para instalar una planta de procesamiento de productos marinos en dependencias del Terminal Pesquero de Valdivia que servirá a todas las organizaciones de pescadores asociadas.
