Los bailarines mostraron sus destrezas en el concurso comunal de cueca que se realizó ayer en el Teatro Lord Cochrane.

El jurado compuesto por integrantes del Círculo de Campeones y Cuequeros de Chile, dirimió que la pareja número siete fuese la ganadora, adjudicándose el primer lugar Benigna Silva de 67 años y Víctor Vargas de 80. El segundo lugar se lo llevó Emilia Silva y Ramón Muñoz, en tanto, Doralisa Rivas y Hernán Coronado obtuvieron el tercer lugar.
La vencedora de la jornada, Benigna Silva, se manifestó sorprendida por su triunfo. “Nunca pensé que íbamos a ganar porque con mi compañero no tuvimos mucho tiempo para ensayar. Pero ahora nos pondremos las pilas para la competencia regional”.
La animación del certamen estuvo a cargo del monitor del programa del adulto mayor, Javier Yaitul, mientras que el conjunto folclórico del municipio, “Sol Naciente” se encargó de cantar y acompañar a los bailarines.
La competencia es requisito fundamental para posteriormente participar en las fases regionales, con miras al campeonato nacional que se disputará, como todos los años, en la comuna de Tomé el 28 y 29 de septiembre.
