“El sueño de un centro de rehabilitación en la Región es de importancia, ya que ayudaría a que niños de la comuna no tengan que viajar a Puerto Montt para ser atendidos. La gente se vio motivada tras la visita de la caravana Teletón y el espíritu de ayuda nos guía a donar dinero, para que muchos niños al igual que mi hija Javiera puedan reír, jugar y correr como cualquier pequeño”, indicó Jeanette Guerrero, madre de niña perteneciente a la Teletón.
La cifra final superó los cuatro millones de pesos, lo que duplicó los fondos recaudados el año anterior, los cuales alcanzaron los 2.403.320 pesos. “La comunidad se unió a esta cruzada y la primera visita de la caravana dentro de San José motivó a las personas para que se acercaran a realizar su depósito”, indicó Erwin Pacheco, Alcalde la comuna.
Los chilenos lo logramos otra vez, la meta se superó y muchos niños que como Javierita anhelan simples cosas, como caminar o correr, lo podrán lograr. La tradición de ayudar está presente y pese a que en la comuna de Mariquina no se realizaron actividades por la Teletón se logró duplicar la cifra del 2006. ¡Grande Chile, por ser tan solidario!
